The 4th Discussion on Racism in America, will be Saturday, at 11:00 p.m. at Margo’s Restaurant on 1st street.
Annual Juneteenth Program: June 19, 2010, at 11:00 noon at the Alamogordo Public Library (Outside). Pacific Islanders will be highlighted.
What We Are Doing
We work with our legislators to help pass pertinent legislation such as racial profiling.* We work with Boys and Girls Club! Big Brothers, Big Sisters! Participate in the MLK Committee, MLK annual celebration and participate in the annual walk in honor of Dr. King!
We are sponsors of the annual Educator of the Year Banquet, annual Juneteenth Celebration, drumming and dance workshops, Forum on Racism, Hold online classes on professional development for young people. Award grants to college applicants. We sponsor quarterly presentations by community experts on topics from “dental hygiene” to “violence against women”.
