National NAACP Tea Party Talking Points
1. We are calling for the Tea Party to expel all the racist elements within their organizations.
2. The NAACP does not oppose or affiliate with any political parties. The NAACP is a nonpartisan organization and our primary vision is to ensure a society in which all individuals have equal rights and there is no racial hatred or racial discrimination.
However, we do oppose political parties that promote bigotry and extremism towards people of any race, sexual orientation, religious affiliation or ethnicity.
3. The NAACP would like the Tea party to expel the bigots in your ranks, whether individuals or factions. These factions perpetuate and promote racial hatred amongst the Tea Party members and allow for the tolerance of racial hatred.
4. The time has come for them to accept the responsibility that comes with influence and make clear there is no place for racism, anti-Semitism, homophobia, or any other form of bigotry in their movement.
Stormfront.org is “a community of White Nationalists”, which actively promotes the Tea Party and its events” and was established in 1995 by a former KKK leader Don Black. Their slogan is White Pride World Wide. They claim to be allies of the tea party and have encouraged its members to join the Tea Party. They are a self-described community of white nationalists promoting racial extremism.
During its first two years, Stormfront featured the writings of William Pierce of the neo-Nazi National Alliance; David Duke; representatives of the Holocaust-denying Institute for Historical Review and other assorted extremists. They also have a website for kids, promoting white supremacy and racial hate.
Dale Robertson: On February 27, 2009, Dale Robertson, then head of the 1776 Tea Party (i.e. TeaParty.org) attended Tea Party event in Houston with a sign reading “Congress = Slave Owner, Taxpayer = Nigger.” Robinson sent out racist fundraising emails depicting President Obama as a pimp.
Members of the Council of Conservative Citizens, linear descendents white citizens council, have been organizing, promoting and in some cases leading Tea Party events (in our upcoming report we will detail what cities and who with much more information coming out this summer).
They call interracial relationships “mongrelization”. Although the group claims not to be racist, its leader’s traffic with other white supremacist groups and its publications, Web sites and meetings all promote the purportedly innate superiority of whites.
